      Alarm set for 2.30am so it was early to bed. Woke up quite fresh and all ready for our holidays. Flight left Aberdeen on time and was fairly smooth, arrived at Amsterdam to find our flight out was delayed by 2hrs, 35 mins!! :-( There was nothing else for it, off to the business lounge for a refreshment!       We are up at six to make dure we have time to enjoy the wonderful breakfast you always get at the Sukhothai. We have ordered a taxi for 8.00 which as it happens turns out to be too early. It is a public holiday in Thailand for the King's birthday so rather than being stuck in the usual traffic jams we sail straight to the airport in half an hour.

      ... during the day visiting a castle nearby. We all shared in the first of several toasts throughout the weekend! It was amazing to look around at our family and feel so truly blessed to have our parents and some of our siblings in Scotland to celebrate with us! That night we kept things fairly low key, just having a nice dinner at a little bistro restaurant in downtown Aberdeen since we had a busy couple of days ahead of us.

      ... and apparently snow is forecast in the hills over the next few days, so that should be fun! He was a bit like your dad giving us tips on how to drive and look after ourselves. Also told us to watch out in the north as petrol stations do not always open on the weekend. Very sweet really!
