    ... to Big Bend NP. It was approximately 400 "extra" miles, but at this point that did t seem like a big deal After about 2 hour of small, narrow road driving, mostly behind oil carrying big rigs, I decided I've had enough of the desert and it was time to head east. I changed direction and headed toward Arkansas. After a night in Eastland Texas, I sped a good portion of the day finishing my drive to Hot Springs NP. ...

    ... Arkansas and Texas but the RV park is
    on the Texas side. It's a nice enough RV Park (Texarkana RV Park) but
    we're back to the parking lot style RV Park. Just a big gravel and
    concrete lot with barely any trees. It does have a nice enough pool,
    the showers and bathrooms are a 3 or 4 minute walk away along with a
    games room and laundry. Someone in Alabama said we wouldn't see many
    trees once we got west of the Mississippi, I guess he was right.

    ... for Patty) then headed back to the historic district for a 12 year old Macallan in the ornate lobby bar of the Arlington Hotel. Our stroll along Central Avenue led us to the closing set of the Rockin' Delta Medicine Men.

    Tomorrow we change our focus and begin the quest for the highest points in Arkansas (Monday) and Missouri (Tuesday).

    In Texas. It took us 6 - 7 hours to get here and we filled our tank on the way for $20! Under $2 a gallon. Jonathan fm drove straight here via Arby's drive through, a McDonald's coffee pit stop and then. Walmart stop for groceries. Arrived after hours at another state park and it smells amazing after New Orleans - like cedar I think, I have no idea. I'll get brochures tomorrow when we check out with the ranger. As it was almost dark, we haven't explored ...
