After supper I went downtown to Bath House Row to see the famous bath houses that people 'took the waters'. You could not take a bath their now as they had been taken over as shops or government offices, but still made a good picture.
Tomorrow I'll take one last trip and then get ready to ride home. My bum is not looking forward to it.
Well decided to stick to plan, came down to Hot Springs. I have two days until I pack up and return home. Thunderstorm started then quickly passed over again (think it's following me) while I was chomping down on some good barbequed ribs. Good thing I don't eat lunch on the road.
... outside to get pictures of the un-flooded loading dock, the infamous warehouse sign, and the A&E semi-trailer in the parking lot. Then we drove a few blocks down the road to Willie’s Duck Diner. The restaurant ambience replicated Louisiana culture and the staff reflected a southern friendliness. I expected the food to be more home-cooked, perhaps seeing Miss Kay cleaning squirrels in the kitchen, but since I only ordered a ham ...
... gems are just sitting on the ground. We didn't find any, but it's an engaging activity; you end up really trying to find your prizes amongst the millions of tiny stones your either sift through or sluice. I was exhausted by the effort, myself, but I have to say the facilities here are very good. I would do it again sometime in the future.
Today, we head back home. The weather itself may be our on the road adventure, but so far, so good.
