... my amazing husband worked on toilets, dryers, and anything else that had broken since the last time we were at Mom's. We ended the day with a Mexican feast at El Azteca in Ashland. Love some nachos and margaritas.

Never Forget - D-Day Memorial Visit

... both of us. The memorial is beautiful and yet, horrible. There were lovely memorial flower gardens and everything was impeccably manicured. We walked around the central granite arch with the word "Overlord" carved into the rock. Overlord was the name of the D-Day operation, which was almost aborted because of lack of aerial support. ... This is a huge outdoor shop that almost looks like a theme park when you go in. It sells everything you could possibly need for outdoor pursuits from fishing dresses (yes they exist!) to semi-automatic rifles. It was astounding just seeing how many guns you could buy, along with US Army camouflage, 8-inch knives and hunting crossbows. We did make a few purchases - only clothes though! ...

... I had nothing to worry about. Maria and I got along so well and I hope someday I can go back and visit her again or she can come back here. Her mother was so sweet and made sure that I was comfortable and happy. Her dad was a little quiet but super funny. And Manuel was adorable and reminded me a lot of Liam.
