... my internship I spent 2 weeks in St. Thomas visiting a friend also concluding his internship. I decided to follow up with one of the girls I had met through him, and once again had a local to make my trip just that much better. I joined her and another friend to St. John to view the 8 Tuff Mile Run. When she first invited me I laughed out loud with the thought of running 8 miles; she then informed me we just wait at the finish line (a bar) and cheer ...

... I walked into town, about a 15 minute walk around the harbour. Gary did his own thing, as he finds poking around shops and markets a little dull.

We stopped at the market and bought some larimar jewellery. Larimar is the only gem stone native to the Caribbean and is made from volcanic rock. It is blue and the hue varies from gem to gem. Strolled around the shopping area - Kay bought a few nick nacks. Jewellery shops everywhere. The boat gave a few vouchers to get some cheaper jewellery.

    Back on board for lunch.

Did a show on board the ship last night - musical hairspray - a great show by the performers.

The ship has its own Central Park - remarkable area lined with trees and eateries.

Some of the ships balconies open up around the park area.

... now at the "she's gonna blow!" stage.

It was not much better this morning. I awoke in a foul temper. The ship docked at St Thomas Island, and it looks identical to St Maarten, or Antigua and Barbados come to that. We're not going ashore. What would be the point? There would be just another bunch of idiots trying to pry money out of my wallet. The only difference would be that they would be on dry land and not floating on the world's biggest idiot asylum.

... credit card replacement before we had to go home. And the only people that would have come across it would be from our ship, since we were the only one docked. On the other hand, Barb was just sweating, from the situation and the walk. We talked to the owner and a sales girl. Then another came and said we should phone Barb's cell, which she was using as her camera....duh. She got her phone and put it on speaker phone. The ship's guest relations staff answered, "Is this Barbar ...
