Me and Stealth were able to make it through the Smokies in 4 days and we are on our way to Hot Springs, North Carolina. 275 miles down, a lot more to go. ...

... and twist/bang the **** out of my foot. It swelled so big I couldn't even fit my climbing shoe back on... so after this I became what is knows as "Belay *****." Lee had a great climb sesh though. He onsighted some 11's and we giggle at a pompous guide hanging around the crag trying to be big and bad.

I will return and conquer the other routes without incident!

After a night in London we motored on over to Asheville NC. Oh yea, it was London KY, not the other one....Anywho, we found a funky little park right near the freeway that had some interesting rv's camping there. See Attached pic's. Anywho, we intended to just over night here, but found out that there was a big 'ol house to see, so we did...see it that is. The guy that designed and built the Central Park in New York ...

... s about 100 miles to Grandfather Mountain, site of the Parkway's completion in 1983. At 5,946 feet, it's the highest peak on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Grandfather Mountain is rich with history. It has a mile-high swinging bridge, and views that are beyond compare. The "swinging bridge" gets its name because of the bridge's tendency to sway in high winds. Yikes. Click here to learn more about Grandfather ...

After we got to the house and took Zero in -- found a closet pretty quickly and slept the rest of the day - we unloaded my bug-caked Prius. Gotta get a picture of that. As promised the PODS arrived, one at a time, with the same driver bringing both. Nice guy, he and Ray had to figure out how to get the two PODS in the driveway with the least amount of damage to the overhanging ...
