... and via the freeway overnighting in Johnson City in Tennessee. We continued north on Saturday driving some 300 miles, crossing into Virginia, and camped in Waynesboro. The camp here is big - nearly 300 sites and mostly large caravans, fifth wheelers and bus like motorhomes. Our van looks really small.   • Met up with Jim and Darlene, who were with us on the Panama Canal cruise my sister and I took last November for lunch. They are staying in Ashville, NC so half way was Spruce Pines. We found a great restaurant for lunch.....Mountain View. It certainly lived up to their name.
  • On the way back to Boone, I stopped at Linville Caverns.

... a town know for its music. Ok, it's not Nashville, but what's in a letter! We found, with the help of our waiter, a bar with some fabulous jazz, heaving with people. The lead singer, a guy in his 50's, would stand on a chair and belt out a song in this great, deep, gravelly voice, then jump off the chair and go into a deep snog with some very accepting nearby ...

After we got to the house and took Zero in -- found a closet pretty quickly and slept the rest of the day - we unloaded my bug-caked Prius. Gotta get a picture of that. As promised the PODS arrived, one at a time, with the same driver bringing both. Nice guy, he and Ray had to figure out how to get the two PODS in the driveway with the least amount of damage to the overhanging ...
