My wife and myself just returned from a wonderful eight days in the keys and our stay at the Tropical Inn was superb, Brandy, Jane and Allan are wonderful hosts and always ready to help you with anything you need ,to me it was like staying with freinds. The tropical garden,pool area was a treat to be on Duval street and to escape to the privacy of the pool area was great , we had the pool area to ourselfs most days, the buffet was plentyful rooms were delightful yes some rooms are small and older if you desire large with the latest appointments then opt for the 3 newer rooms we viewed them as they are just about done they are great. To sum it up I would reccomend the Tropical Inn to anyone staying in Key Wesy

Perfect!

We're experienced B&B'ers so when we knew we'd be staying in Key West for a couple nights, we researched all the B&B's we could find. We booked the Tropical Inn.

In short:

PRO'S: terrific customer service, nice rooms, BEAUTIFUL private back patio/pool area, breakfast buffet is served slightly later than at other B&B's - starting at 8:30 AM, superb location - couldn't be any better!

CON'S: if there are any con's, would be the small'ish room size, firm beds, breakfast is buffet and not served, a little spendy, and that parking is across the street off of an alley - costs $10 per night.

We arrived after 6pm and they graciously left us a late-arrival packet. We had the chance to stay in two different rooms - the first night we stayed in the Key Lime Loft: beautiful room with an large deck that overlooks the pool area. Very private and great for eating breakfast alone. The room was a little tight, the bathroom was very small - with only enough room in the bathroom for the toilet and shower. The tiny sink and mirror are located in the main part of the room.

The second night we stayed in the Poinciana Patio room which features french doors that open to the pool area. This room is somewhat larger than the Key Lime. The bathroom still has the toilet and shower with the basin located outside the bathroom. The only drawback to this room is having a table right outside your room where early-risers may wake you up by loud talking/eating in the mornings.

Breakfast is served buffet-style and included: yogurt, bananas, cereals, juices, coffee, pastries, bagels/toast.

Their customer service is terrific - we had to stay in two separate rooms and they volunteered to move our luggage for us during the day so we could go out and enjoy the sunshine instead of waiting for room #2 to be cleaned for us.

Overall a great B&B experience - I'd highly recommend because of the location and beautiful back courtyard area. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the cost and small rooms.

The Awesome Tropical Inn

My husband and I just took a trip to Key West to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We looked online and picked a place to stay, hoping it would be nice. It was wonderful. We felt very welcomed to the place of paradise. The room was beautiful. The Tropical Inn is located on Duvall Street, which is a very happening place. But when you stepped out in the gardens, with the pool and hot tub, you were in a very quiet, relaxing place. The service we received was excellent and they were very helpful. The breakfast by the pool each morning was a great way to start the day. I would recommend the Tropical Inn to anyone who wants to truly experience what Key West is all about.

It was paradise!

We recently stayed at the Tropical Inn in February. We had gotten a room with private courtyard with jacuzzi and was the best vacation we have ever had! The owners and staff were very receptive to all of our wishes and they even helped with dinner reservations. We will be returning there next year when we go back to the Keys!

Loved the Tropical Inn

My husband and I just got back from five wonderful days in Key West. We really enjoyed our stay at the Tropical Inn with it's beautiful garden and excellent location (right on Duval Street). We had a beautiful room overlooking the pool with a balcony. It was wonderful. I can't say enough about Allen, Jane & Brandie. They were so helpful and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay at the Tropical Inn again.

We were relieved that we found a good place to stay!

We had looked for a long time to find a good place because we had never been to Key West before. We made a good choice. Overall, our trip was absolutely fabulous! The room we had at the tropical Inn was small but very clean and comfortable and had a great private sunbathing deck. We stayed in the Key Lime Loft. The Inn itself had a sufficient breakfast (cereal, fruit, juice, coffee and warm danish) to get us going before we did our daily exploring. Ask Brandi to recommend activities and restaurants for you. We took a sea plane to Dry Tortugas, Parasailed, Jet Skied, and got massages. I recommend doing it all! I also recommend eating at Blue Heaven and La Trattoria Italian Restaurant. Key West is a must!

Getaway to Paradise

My husband and I spent 5 glorious days at your inn. The service was exceptional. Jane, Brandie and Allen made us feel like we were royality. They were their to answer any questions and offer any help needed. The private room and garden courtyard we had was remote and extremely romantic. The grounds were impeccable and you can feel inspiration in this atmosphere to write or creat something to keep your memory alive of your stay here. Your rooms were the most comfortable I have ever experienced and can not wait till we can return again. I would recommend your Inn to any I can for there, for I know that their stay would be as memorable. Thank you Brandi , and hope to see you again.

Best in The Keys!

I have got to hand it to the staff at the Tropical Inn. I had the Cleanest, Nicest room.... And the privacy was Excellent. My fiance and I stayed for 5 Days and had a blast... Right on duval street, yet step into the Elegant and Tropical courtyard with it's perfectly sized pool and Romantic hot tub and your in a world all your own. My fiance and I found ourselves in complete privacy, even though there were 3-4 other guests.. we rarely saw them. Well except for at breakfast that is, which you should definatly catch..Mmmm warm struedel... I must also add that the availability of cold V8 with breakfast was refreshing. Overall I wouldn't stay anywhere else in key west. I have stopped looking for a place for next year(We try somthing new each year) because there is nothing further for me to see. Thank you Tropical Inn for the BEST TIME EVER!!!

Near Luxury Excellent Location

Just returned from Tropical Inn. Excellent Duval Street location.

(Located in 800 block of Duval - Bars are at 300 block. Very clkose to Mangoe's) Just far enough from the bars to be pleasant. Hot tub, pool are added pluses and they are more generaous with the breakfasts than most places. Not many channels on the TV, but no big deal. Staff - who are the owners - are very friendly, non-obtrusive and helpful. Safe, secure, clean, not a lot of cheap whicker furniture, nice bedding.

Staff make sure temperature of rooms is comfortable. I would return in a minute. Well worth the $199 we paid for our room.

Excellent Choice

The Tropical Inn is truly an excellent choice. We did our research for months before choosing a true gem. If you are looking for a beautiful, clean, quiet and peaceful guest house try the Tropical Inn. Did I mention location..location...location. Right in midtown on Duval an easy half mile or so walk in each direction to it's end.

Brandi our hostess had all the answers and was there to make all the reservations we needed. Her dining suggestions were superb. Like Square One and Blue Heaven cafe.

Nothing better than taking naps to the sounds of the wind blowing through the palms by the pool. We will definitely return soon.
