... got home at about 2:40am. I was so excited to get home. I threw my bags in my room and jumped into bed, where I stayed until noon. Now it's back to life in the USA. I can say that my experience in France was without a doubt the best experience of my life this far. I am so lucky to have met the people that I did and see everything that I could. I am glad to be home, but miss France terribly already.

But as always, it's not good bye, just see you later.

... river. Lovely rolling hills very much like at home. Still lots of corn which I've since found out is being produced for biofuel. We ended up at friends of Pete and Dens - Shiv and Shobi. They met each other on a cruise in Egypt 3 years ago. They are lovely people who live at Dubuque and it was great of them to put the 6 of us up for the night. ... But was not that hungry anyway. I was coming down with a cold again...aching all over and a fever...thanks to Al and Denise sharing their germs. Took two tablets and went to bed. Most of the others didn't get to bed till 1.30am. We were treated to a traditional Indian breakfast in the morning ..along with cinnamon and cardamon tea. ... Jim spoke at the final plenary session on "Connected in Fellowship" and did a fantastic job (in my unbiased opinion!) on concluding the conference with how we should work together and be united in Christ.

We had a marvelous trip and thank you for praying for us.

Jim leaves on Sunday, Lord Willing, for Pan-Africa Brethren Conference on Mission and three Emmaus conferences in Kenya and Ethiopia. Watch for more news!

We lunched at One Eleven Main where I had some delicious catfish. After lunch we walked around the city admiring its historical architecture, including the oldest house in Galena, Dowling House, built in 1826. A lot of buildings had faded hand painted advertisements which Kelli admired for their typography. We walked off lunch and then piled back in the car bound for Chicago. ...
