Took the road less travelled for our first day. Headed west on the I-290 W or Dwight Eisenhower Expressway for a bit before it was the US20 W. When we could we were off onto the IL 72W which was a much smaller road with much less traffic that went through suburbs and small towns.

Bought supplies for lunch in Addison - spent a whole $2.60 to get bread rolls, ham and a tomato. Back to our lunch of travels past - ...

The James live in the RV Resort we stay in while in Florida during the winter. We parked the coach in their driveway and even get to use their electric. ... amazing adventure from being simple corn farmers 25 years ago to being pushed into the limelight when their farm was used as a significant part in the Field of Dreams movie. Never in their wildest dreams did they imagine their life changes due to this.

... on our trip, apart from what I've mentioned already we've also encountered many deer. We were following the river again from there, to our next stop at Davenport and the National Mississipi River Museum and Aquarium. The drive into town was disconcerting with numerous pawn brokers, strip clubs and tattoo parlours in quite a run down neighbourhood.
