... happened upon Zagreb during it's famous advent events, and walked the very charming old town as well as the Christmas market stalls as various performers sang in the main square.

We only had 3 nights in Zagreb, but it turned out to be enough. What we didn't realize was that it would be the largest city in Croatia we would encounter.

... made up of cascading lakes with waterfalls connecting them. It's very much like Pammukale but on a much bigger scale and without the dramatic white and blue water. The water is a similar colour but crystal clear and the park is fulled with lush green bush surrounding the lakes. It is an easy 4 to 6 hour walk around the park, with a boardwalk that you follow as well as a boat and a bus/train to improve access.
