Neither of us really WANTED to go on this Discovery III steamroller riverboat cruise, but we bought the tickets without fully being honest about it. I wanted to go on a major photo hike, and he wanted to stay and watch Fox News.

We pick up our part and go to another place where we got the solenoid, which didn’t fix our generator problem even though it was bad, and he orders the circuit board for us. It is $400 plus $30 shipping but we should have it tomorrow or the next day. But like we keep saying, it is what it is.

We had heard that we should go to the Salmon Bake at Pioneer Park and to the Palace Theater to see a melodrama that was about the history of Fairbanks. The Salmon Bake was okay, except neither of us liked the salmon, but the all you can eat crab was good. ... interesting thing with the cabins is that the first row of logs is laid straight on the ground, so the logs gradually rot and the cabin slowly sinks. They have cellars for food storage, and the floor is not attached to the house. As the house sinks, they occasionally have to take off the doors and cut some wood off the bottom.
