... go down and take out the power lines on their road. Although only one house was affected with no power, the live wire laid across the road making it impassable. For several days! Since there was only 1 house without power and there were thousands of homes dark, they weren't a priority. After several days, Debbie's husband Dave actually cut a new road in to circumvent the downed power line and allow them to go for supplies.

... s located just beyond Birch Lake on the Ric******* Highway north of Delta Junction. We had stopped there on our drive south (so I could use the outhouse and Randy could take a pic of a float plane)! The next day, we toured Pioneer Park in the rain. This is a municipal park where many of the original cabins from Fairbanks have been moved and restored. We were there before many of them opened as craft and gift shops, so it was a quick walk about before hitting the road to Chena Hot Springs.



This B&B, located on 1003 8th Ave., Fairbanks, is near Northern Alaska Tour Company, Ice Museum, Mt. Healy Overlook Trail, and Steese Highway.
