Turn only lanes, Dinosaurs and Good Beer

... Nic Decided that he was gonna go straight anyways he claim the car in front did it too, at least thats what he decided to tell the cop when we got pulled over. Nic was he's charming self and talked himself out of a ticket and into getting the directions. He was hoping for a police escort, but we all know he's not that charming ;)

Yellowstone Day 2

... and the Porcelain Basin. We saw several buffalo in the fields and on the road today. We stopped at Roaring Mountain which still has steam rolling out of vents along its side. The last few miles as we approached Mammoth Hot Spring were spectacular with several switchbacks around the cliffs and mountains. At the bottom were the Hot Springs that formed a series of falls down a hill.

As our time in Yellowstone came to an end we drove north into Montana and stayed in Bozeman at the WalMart.

Traveling to Yellowstone

We were a day early getting to our reserved spot at the Yellowstone North entrance so this site was recommended to us. It was a nice relaxing park right by the Yellowstone River. The river is swift flowing and not very deep. It seems like most of the people here flyfish and the current moves them swiftly north and I am not quite sure how they get back it seems like a heck of alot of rowing.

Didn't do much today but relax.

We stopped into Bozeman for a couple days to visit Tom Starner and family - wife Kelly Ann, and kids Savanah, Joey, and Bailey. Darren roomed with Tom during his balla' days at UTSA and was coached at UTSA by Tom's dad Stu. We had a great time with a great family in a great area...great!

Gold Rush Towns and the Headwaters of the Missouri

... this is where Sacagawea recognized her surroundings for the first time of the trip, having been kidnapped from the area some 6 years prior. We ended our day at the Missouri Headwaters State Park at Three Forks, where the Gallatin, Jefferson and Madison Rivers converge into the Missouri, one of the most important sites of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The view from the cliffs is breathtaking.

Day 13: Wallace, Idaho to Bozeman, Montana

... Historic Site in Deer Lodge, MT. We skipped the Montana State Prison museum also in the same town. We took a walk through a preserved Montana cattle ranch. Ann had "cowboy coffee" and Paul had baked beans made by Ed at the chuck wagon - both might have been around since the ranch was still operating in the 1930's but appreciating that this might be our only chance to ever eat from an authentic chuck wagon, we had to try them (and they were free). The resident "cowboy" Ken ...

Solving Problems and Visiting old Friends

... as a map, I found the street and the complex. I noticed a guy outside the complex (almost ran over him) and he looked really familiar. When I knocked on the door, I realized that it was Hans's brother- who I had met back in Garmisch a few years ago. He told me about a really good auto mechanic to see and I followed his advice. The mechanic ran the little test and told me it actually could be 1 of 2 things and to not let it bother me just yet ...
