Leaving Portland with our haul of seafood, we headed to New Hampshire, our last stop before hitting Canada. Until now the drives haven't been that spectacular, but heading through the countryside into New Hampshire and towards the White Mountains, it jumped up a notch.

We’d booked a room at the White Mountains Hostel in Conway based on some fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor. We arrived too early to check in so we went for a wander. After ascertaining that ...

Oh well, we still managed to find the local bar, the O.P., which had an offer on for a pitcher of PBR beer for $3, how could we say no?! We stayed in Burlington for ...

Maura planned to meet me at the Pemigewasset Overlook, steps away from the Kancamagus Pass summit. ... discussed their experiences until the next morning! And once in the other bed they had no trouble at all sleeping! I sure hope if it really was a ghost, it doesn't decide to come visit me tonight!

So tomorrow I leave Wolfeboro and Mirror Lake and Lake Winnipesaukee. I have absolutely loved it here, and I hope someday to return. But the north beckons me, with more beautiful scenery and adventures. How could I say no?
