... When we booked at Greymouth we were given the option of paying then or waiting until we checked in so we were pleased we had paid at the time. And at $17.50 a night we knew we had gotten great value.

... stop on this journey which was to a place called the Bushman Centre. It was absolutely hilarious!!! It is basically a museum set up by this guy who used to hunt deer to show what happened in that area of New Zealand before tourism took over, which was deer hunting for farming. The museum experience began with a short, very 80s/90s video showing men jumping out of helicopters on to deer to catch them, all to the theme of 'highway to the danger ...

... Wild Foods Festival, which would make Zimmer proud. The weather has turned to rain, so I am motel bound for a few hours, allowing me to finally catch up and relax. I planned to bypass wine and try an apple cider, which when I ordered it and tried it I told the barmaid it tasted great, but like beer. Late morning and we turned west and travelled along the Great Alpine Highway which weaves its way through the mountains all the way to the West Coast via Porter's Pass and Arthur's Pass.
