    ... back to sample. We were surprised by how many historic wooden houses resembling turn of the century New England homes made up Stevensville especially after the rest of our drive through Montana consisted mostly of remote farm houses or trailers. Many houses were freshly painted and landscaped with colorful flowers. It was picturesque.

    Phoebe: We went to someone's house and she has dogs, two dogs. one is big and one is little. The little one is Cola, her is a little dog. Jewel is a big dog.     ... to be fed and for us all to help. She even grabbed Claire's hand as they walked. We all helped feed the horses and 2 donkeys and then she took us through the gardens where the girls sampled both sweet and tart cherries, strawberries and raspberries. As we looked through pictures for today as a family all 3 girls said this may be their best pit stop yet.     ... are parked. Do I go left or right? There is no signage. The main road goes left- so do we. We end up at the Ranger Station.

    Asking directions we are told we passed the turnoff to the campground. ****. I can turn around without backing. I get part way turned around and the trailer brakes lock up. I suspect the emergency breakaway cable snagged on something, setting the brakes. That's not it and smoke is coming out from the trailer in the hitch area! ...
