Today we left Poughkeepsie for Philadelphia, via Milford, a historic town and in which the cemetery of which my Great, Great.....Grandfather General Daniel Brodhead is buried. The town of Milford was absolutely beautiful, soemthing I did not expect, with a very French influence. Many french bakeries and beautiful old homes. A visit to the old bookshop was rewarding as we found more books for our Nicholas and then on to the cemetery. ...

On Saturday, the entire family (missing a couple) all went to Grandma's in Brookfield! I should have taken before and after pictures because that place really got trashed. There were about 30 people and Grandma fed all of us, no problem. She's a champ, that lady. She had everything all planned out with entertainment prepared and all. We played ...
... on the climb. Phew! We were able to get our gear back (Took me awhile to fennagle the nuts from the crack...they were SOOOO well placed!!! Nice job Ben!), and made good time on the 3-pitch climb.
I did a lot of positive self-talk, staying aware of my breathing, and focused on trusting my feet, the gear and my climbing partner. I did have a few moments of fear, but I was able to keep the fears in check with rationalizing and as I continued to climb higher ...
