... lightning and thunderous tympani. Escazu and San Jose are in central Costa Rica, surrounded by mountains, and these make the perfect setting for afternoon storms during "winter." The storms often lasted for many hours into the evening. It wasn't very cold, but being outside was very wet. We both had umbrellas, and made sure they were in our backpacks when we left for school in the morning.

... we are 1/4 of the way done with our school year. Getting grades in was such a pain! Grading is the worst! Luckily, I got it all done and report cards go out on Monday so we will see how that goes. Then we will also have parent teacher conferences next week as well. I hate parent teacher conferences.
