... hours. I could have done it in 9 if it weren't for the stupid polar vortex and its accompanying blizzard. Shortly after I crossed into Wisconsin it started to snow, but just a little. It started to pick up, and I knew I was driving into a blizzard that dropped two feet of snow last night, so I got off the highway to fill up my tank and see exactly where the storm was heading. ... the $5 day pass to the park. At least it also was used for Lake Itasca park. Lake Lasalle State Recreation area campground was ok. A reclaimed forest which is trying to come back it is sleepy and also a bit depressing. On the good side it has full hookups and was quiet. Today was our first dreary, drizzly, somewhat rainy day. But we didn't mind so much. We needed a day to laze around in the morning instead of "rushing" out fishing. It also gave us time to clean up the cabin a little, and get some laundry done.
