Traveled today from Grand Portage, MN to Bemidji, MN. On the way, we missed Betty's Pies. The parking lot was packed full, no place for the truck and coach.

Bemidji is the home of Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe. We checked out the statue by Lake Bemidji while on our way to dinner. We will spend the overnight here and head to Detroit Lakes, MN tomorrow.

... time we visited the headwaters of the Mississippi was 5 years ago, so it seemed like a good time for a "refresher course" in walking on slippery rocks and swatting mosquitoes. Maddie had also never been to the headwaters, so we wanted to show her what it was all about.

... Mississippi and continued on the I-94 through the suburb towns/cities till we found a rest area on the other side to stop at and determine the next route. The skies had brightened, thankfully, as we neared St. Paul and by the time we got to the other side of Minneapolis it was lovely and warm.
