... hours. I could have done it in 9 if it weren't for the stupid polar vortex and its accompanying blizzard. Shortly after I crossed into Wisconsin it started to snow, but just a little. It started to pick up, and I knew I was driving into a blizzard that dropped two feet of snow last night, so I got off the highway to fill up my tank and see exactly where the storm was heading. ... the $5 day pass to the park. At least it also was used for Lake Itasca park. Lake Lasalle State Recreation area campground was ok. A reclaimed forest which is trying to come back it is sleepy and also a bit depressing. On the good side it has full hookups and was quiet. ... Jared, Leah & Chloe in ours. We went to Pike Bay and fared pretty well. We ended up with 14 fish...9 big rock bass and 5 perch, while the other boat caught about 10 (mostly perch). After cleaning the fish, Tom joined the kids and I for s'mores around the campfire. Seth and Maddie packed up their things, as they will be heading home early tomorrow morning. We are sad to see them go.
