Slow start this morning since we lost an hour yesterday. On the road at 10:22am, local time. We are still amazed at the campground in Boissevain. As we got into bed last night, we heard a train in the distance and thought 'here's the kicker...this is why no one is here'!.......We had intentionally chosen to go south, away from the Trans Canada since the railroad is right beside the hiway and all the campgrounds that are to be found near hiway 1, will be subjected to train horns ...

We left Birch Villa at 8:15 a.m., Central Time. Even though we sent a few things home with Mom & Dad, our car seems fuller. I can't understand why…I mean, we only added several clothes purchases, 20 quart sized bags of frozen fish, a case of ForestEdge wine, and a kitten (plus litter, kitty food, etc)! It's Friday. And that means it's our last day at Birch Villa Resort on Cass Lake. To change things up a bit, we decided to join Dad in his boat and go over to nearby Crooked Lake with Paul's and Roy's boats. Beth also came along. While the change of scenery was interesting, the fishing was a little disappointing. Tom caught three crappies (which is always fun since we don't catch many at Cass Lake), we added three rock bass, and ended ...

We all slept in today and spent the morning just relaxing in the cabin as the weather was a bit cool and too windy for fishing. Around noon we decided to "do the Walker" thing...Walker, Minnesota, that is. Usually this means the girls and I drive the car down and do a little shopping while Tom rides his bike down and meets us. I decided to shake things up a little bit this year, ...

Day 64

... Mississippi and continued on the I-94 through the suburb towns/cities till we found a rest area on the other side to stop at and determine the next route. The skies had brightened, thankfully, as we neared St. Paul and by the time we got to the other side of Minneapolis it was lovely and warm.

We had in our minds we would head to Fargo, North Dakota (this would be a new state for us this trip) but the stop at Fuller Lake Rest Area gave us the idea of ...
