      At least two solitudes

During the initial Air Transat hop to Montreal, I think someone opened a window, because as the outside temperature approached minus 50, the cabin temperature lagged only slightly. On the tarmac in Montreal, the rain came in. Some passengers huddled together to build a fire using items from the snacks menu, but they were not quite stale enough to produce much warmth.

After getting our baby out of cold storage it is time to get her ready for a new season of exploring. May 16-20: Our first trip this year is with the By-towners back in Brockville at the Happy Green Acres campground. Thunderstorms last night kept Camille and Charlie up most of the night. I slept well knowing they were awake and on watch.

The storms passed through and we left early this morning from Belleville, Ontario for the 78 mile run up the Bay of Quint and St. Lawrence River to Clayton, New York. Upon arrival ...

For our second camping trip we headed out to Rideau Acres campground near Kingston. A nice campground although we we placed on the main road so a fair amount of traffic. Set up was much eaisier this time (we're learning) and we had a nice weekend just chillin'.

Breaking camp went well also and we were home around 3pm Sunday after an enjoyable drive home. Starting to get the hang of having the trailer behind, so far so good.

... for $1 to help preserve the property for tourists in 1978. They have been working on restoration ever since then. When we were there ten years ago, they had the grand staircase and some of the areas around it were completed. None of the side rooms were even started. It was amazing to see what was done. All of the first floor rooms were done. The bedrooms on the second floor were done. The stained glass dome in the open area was ...
