We drove out of Montreal in heavy snowfall that blanked out the street signs, covered the non existent road markings and made the potholes invisible. Rosie wasn't happy either as she couldn't get satellite connection. The snow was building up on the roads and the snow ploughs were out in force snow ploughing and salting the roads. The temperature was showing 26 Fahrenheit. I turned on the windscreen washers and it iced up on the windscreen. Won't do the that again. Now we know ...

Friday 27/2 - Had a cheaufered look around Kingston today starting with Fort Henry and a good view down over the CBD. We could not get into the Fort itself as it's closed over winter. Back into the main street of the city then a walk down and back up the main street. We stopped half way for a warm up drink & food at 'Sipps' cafe which looked out onto a public skating rink behind the Town Hall. Only a few people skating and we ...

Saturday 21/2 - A sleep in, late start and a lazy day. It snowed nearly all day. Walked to the local Flight Centre & booked flights to Fort Lauderdale. Watched some TV. Gym. Skyped Mum and Justin. Home cooked dinner. More TV then bed.

Sunday 22/2 - Went into the city today to look at the Ice fest sculptures. Quite impressive. This time we took the bus and subway there and back. Temp minus 10 and ...

Thunderstorms last night kept Camille and Charlie up most of the night. I slept well knowing they were awake and on watch.

The storms passed through and we left early this morning from Belleville, Ontario for the 78 mile run up the Bay of Quint and St. Lawrence River to Clayton, New York. Upon arrival ...

... for $1 to help preserve the property for tourists in 1978. They have been working on restoration ever since then. When we were there ten years ago, they had the grand staircase and some of the areas around it were completed. None of the side rooms were even started. It was amazing to see what was done. All of the first floor rooms were done. The bedrooms on the second floor were done. The stained glass dome in the open area was ...
