      Arrived yesterday afternoon at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Staying at a campground where our dear friends Robin and Steve Albertson have a permanent site.       Sounds suitably creepy for the season, doesn't it? I finally learned how Door County got it's name. Door County is a peninsula that juts up into Lake Michigan and creates, on its west side, Green Bay (of Packers fame). Off the tip of Door county is an island, Washington Island. Apparently the waters between the peninsula and the island are particularly treacherous and home to many a shipwreck. This earned it the moniker 'port des mortes', or Death's Door, ...

      ... stock up on groceries, since I've rented a cabin here in Baileys Harbor, and experienced my second beer room. Yes...beer room (or cave, as the Pic 'n Save called it). The first was yesterday, when I stopped at the gas station to pick up some beer. The cooler was small and didn't have much selection, and then I noticed the double doors leading to the Beer Room. Yes, an entire walk-in cooler devoted to beer. I think I will like it here.
