... July and August from now on. The weather has been wonderful, no humidity, fresh air, cool nights, nothing higher than the low 80's during the days...just wonderful!

So, in summary, if you've never been to America's heartland, we would highly recommend it. You really just don't realize how majestic this country is until you get out into the great expanse of it all.

See you all soon!

... Whew... we were off.

We had a few hours in the Chicago airport to kill, so we spent the time eating lunch and letting the kids run and play in the big kids area. We arrived in Florida to beautiful, warm weather... after leaving 35 below zero temps it was pure heaven. We picked up our rental mini-van (ha, ha, ha) and headed off to our 3-bedroom rental home, complete with it's own private, heated pool; stopping along the way to pick up a Dominoes pizza for a quick dinner.

It's almost time!

The horses can either move front and rear legs in opposite directions (trotting) or they can move the legs on the same side (front and rear) in the same direction -- this is a special skill. Horses that can do that are pacers, and watching ...

Two weeks on the lake in a cabin

My brother Tom hadn't been back to Wisconsin, where we grew up, for 30 years. His wife Wendy had never been there. So we rented a cottage for two weeks, on the famous (well, locally famous) Chain O'Lakes in Waupaca, just a few miles from where cousins Pat and Diane still live with various descendants (both are grandmothers).

Lots of Flickr photos of the cottage: 04/1344785104/
