... to town and turn in the bikes. Away we went and ended up in the wrong town. All of a sudden we are in a town we thought should be Fira but wasn’t. We were in Pyrgos, a town we had come through yesterday, but not this morning. Crud. It was now 12:55 and we had to get to Fira.

Back to the highway where we realized our wrong turn and off we went. We pulled into the rental at 1:05 and we were greeted by the gentleman who we rented from. We told ...

... pleasant reprieve from the hot sun. Lots of jewellery stores, shoe stores, souvenir stores to be found selling much of the same items. I've not seen yet any scarves or pairs of shoes that I simply must have but there's still time for that - we have 4 more days here and the town Oia to see as well. ... on the sea bass which was very delicious. We were also joking that we rented out the entire restaurant as we were the only customers and the town just seemed to be a ghost town. And of course for dessert we had to head back over to Chill Box for some more frozen yoghurt - best decision.

Our plans for Wednesday were to make the hike from Fira to Oia. We had heard that the hike would take approximately 3 hours but we had no idea what was in store for us. We easily ...

... By the time we got back it was about 4.30, so we just spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and laying by the pool!! Had dinner in Fira tonight which had yet again amazing views (your probably all a bit sick of me saying that!!). We also got a frozen yoghurt with different toppings for the little walk home! Currently sitting out on our verandah looking out over the cliffs which look beautiful from all the lights...wish I could spend the end of every day like this!! xoxo ...

... the story. Pardon the brief synopsis, but in writing this 6 weeks later, I've forgotten more details:

      • Beautiful black beach that is way too hot to walk over- they've laid out planks making a path to the road
      • Sunset at Oia, with the nice British girl who's terribly afraid of heights and donkeys, "The hoooooves!"
      • The oohs, aaahhs and clapping of the crowd above as the sun slips into the Aegean Sea
      • The arduous hike down to the Red ...
