A ton has happened since the last time I have updated here. I know it has been a while since I have posted anything. I have just been really focused on hiking and trying to enjoy every step of this journey.
After I left New York City I started hiking towards the Connecticut border. The rainy weather I had in New York subsided and I had beautiful weather for my hike through Connecticut and Massachusetts. In Massachusetts I climbed up Mt. Greylock, the first big climb ...
... we come across either. We stopped for photos, to look at interesting things, and ate lunch at "mini Niagara Falls", which was a really nice spot. We met maybe a dozen people along the way.
At one point, we miss a junction point for our trail -too busy chatting, plus it wasn't very obvious seeing as the bridge that was supposed to be there had disappeared. We had walked quite a way past it, and having stopped a car to ask, the kind folk offered to give us a lift back ...
... his attitude towards me and making him make this trek. And then, just when I thought he was going to push me in the stream and leave me for the bears, we were back! We signed out and realized in our group of hikers who left around us (from 6:50 to 7:15) we were the third group back! The average time for the hike is between 8 and 12 hours and we had made it in 7 hours and 15 minutes! Feeling accomplished and badass, we hopped in the car and headed back to the roadside ...
we stopped at a trading post & a moosehead beer completed my task.. he was sold :)
so we spent several glorious days dry camping out in the boonies..

We drove through Millinocket, and checked it out a little to scope out possible places to watch the Steelers tomorrow.
