As we left Bethesda, we headed south a couple hundred miles and back in time a couple hundred years... to 1775 in Colonial Williamsburg. As usual, we were late. Hi All We have had 3 more great days here. We've explored Williamsburg with indentured servants and enslaved servants and famous residents- General George Washington, George Wyeth, Marquis De Lafayette and John Pelham, organist for Burton Parish and the former Royal Governor. In fact Mr Pelham gave a benefit harpsichord concert in the Capitol Building last night. We also had a gourmet dinner, lit eighteenth century style, at Christianna Campbell's historic tavern. ...

... except where it benefitted us. Until Monday. It seems that there had been an accident ahead of us and a tractor-trailer had left debris on the track. Luckily we got the word and there was no danger for us. We got to our condo, (2 bdrms 2baths, and a full kitchen, plus washer and dryer), about 11/2 hrs late. But our place is really lovely.
