      ... from Madge's place.

The day turned on beautiful weather with a clear sky and a nip in the air. We were able to walk out to the end of the breakwater on the left and the one on the right which has two light sources on it. The waves were breaking on the lighthouse breakwater and the surf rolled into the shore. A person in a kayak was out in the waves enjoying the ride and later two people on stand-up jet skis came and rode the waves jumping high in the air ...

Slept in which was so lovely. Sun is getting up later and the foggy morning also helped. Nice to have a home breakfast courtesy of Madge's kitchen.

It was still quite foggy when we headed for the local farmer's market in South Bend. It is open 3 times a week and they sell fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, baked goods and then some craft items. I was intrigued by the number of varieties of apples on sale. The fog was still over the Illinois River at the park when we arrived at the rock. We could just make out the lock on the other side of the river. It is a big park with a very big parking area which gradually filled. We stayed there about 2 hours. Walked to Aurora Canyon which did not have any water ...

... and took off. When we got in the car we had driven a total of 252.9 miles since we left Bethesda and driven about 4.5 hours. Today we’ve driven through Pennsylvania, into Ohio (home of THE O-H-I-O University), past Cleveland (shout out to Gal and Wass), past Toledo (beautiful in the distance, perched on the edge of Lake Erie), into Indiana (birthplace of my Grammie!), and onwards. We’re currently in the car as I write this and on the way to find some grub. ...

... at Carol Ann's City Cafe. This cafe was a winner. We split a breakfast sandwich that was delicious, and the coffee was good too. Our waitress was excellent, and there was even free wi-fi. We walked to the post office nearby (to mail Mary Dawn's birthday card) and then down the street just to see the town.

We got back to driving, and decided to go on some back roads just because. The fields and farms were beautiful. I enjoyed seeing the ...
