... Any time your on the road you have to look out for those hazards. Especially if your lower to the ground like we are. Anyway it turned out to be a very wet day and nice ride.
We spent our second day heading on down to Illinois. We stopped in Hobart, IN to ride another Rails to Trails called Prairie Duneland Trail. We rode 15 miles through lush, green lands and had lunch at a cute place called Tate's.

water. The Chicago skyline is impressive and the beach was full of
people hanging out at Lake Michigan. I don't think we're big city
people though so we headed out of Chicago and back into Indiana.
It's been a few days without showers
etc... so we consulted Passport America and found a half price
campground just out of South Bend, about ...
... home, but it seems we've taken just about everything else.
Tom hit the hay on time. I finally crawled in bed at 2:30 a.m., which is typical for me on the night before vacation. Ah well...relaxation and rest is just around the corner!
... some of church and afterward met some people who were excited to be moving to Snowflake, Arizona. This was their last week in Lake Villa, IL and they seemed like they couldn’t be happier. They were excited about moving away from the winters - 50" of snow last year made their decision easier.
The last project in the area Ted wanted to see was a lovely community called Prairie Crossing. We decided we would love to live in it weren't ...
... the Sunny Days Laundromat in Portage IN, not far from where we were. It was great - clean and roomy, and the lady who worked there was very helpful. And it had free wi-fi. We got the laundry done and headed for Chicago. (Oh yeah, before we did the laundry Kelly had a hankering for White Castle, so we grabbed a few burgers. I give White Castle the over packaging award - everything was in small boxes plus they gave us paper plates...don't really need all that!.)
