Historical Traveler Reviews The White House Brighton

White House - worthy of many return visits

from anonymous

I recently stayed at the White House with my partner on a combination work and holiday visit -- and full compliments to Kathryn and Sean for making it seem like a complete holiday. The place exudes a calm, cool ease from the manner of the hosts to the decor to the fine breakfasts. No frilly pomp, instead quality and caring attention.

We recommend the White House!

from Honee

My boyfriend and I stayed at the White House for 3 nights in June, and we had a lovely time. As they were fully booked, we were upgraded for free and had a really smart, comfortable room with a sea-view.

The White House's decor is contemporary and neutral and was spotlessly clean with lovely additional touches to make you feel at home. Our room had everything we needed, and was cleaned every morning. The appearance of daily chocolate bars was especially welcome after a hard day out exploring Brighton!

Parking is available in the nearby streets for £5 a day, or if you are prepared to walk 5/10 mins you can park for free on the seafront.

The choice of breakfasts was great- and prepared freshly and promptly. The only complaint we had was that breakfast was only served between 8-9am on weekdays meaning we had to set the alarm (which we hoping not to have to do on holiday!)

We would definitely recommend staying here- the beach is a minute away, and the Lanes (with the majority of shops and restaurants) is about 10 minute walk away. Kathryn and Sean are very welcoming and we experienced no problems at all with the administration beforehand or during our stay. If you are looking for a comfortable, peaceful, holiday escape to stay in away from the hustle and bustle of Brighton Centre, this is perfect.

Great for me and my baby

from anonymous

The only "hip" hotel in brighton that would offer my baby and I a room. I had lots of trouble with the trendy hotels/ expencive B&Bs (you know the ones I am talking about), nobody wanted a baby in their hotel. I almost gave up on the idea of a weekend away.

I was told The White House was warm and friendly, and thats what it was! Imaculate rooms and breakfasts to wake up and get out of bed for. My one year old son and I had a wonderful time. I will be going there again and passing their number to all my friends. I feel quite smug to have found them!

When your on holiday at the seaside you want "fresh, clean and friendly" not "snooty and stuck up!"

The White House bed and breakfast

from Sambal

Lovely little hotel close very very close to beach and centre, very convenient location. A breath of fresh air after the run down hotels, shabby bnbs, and all the overpriced places to stay in Brighton.

My room was small but I didn't spend much time in it (and it was the cheapest type of room available!) but the small touches were very endearing eg. complimentary snacks. Caters for vegans very well, is gay friendly, has a cute little garden, and great info on what's on in town.

In the heart of Kemp town too, which I had never explored before - great for little shops and cafes away from the overly busy town centre.

Lovely young hosts, Kathryn and Sean, simple and chic decor and fabulous breakfasts.

Thoroughly good value for money in Brighton, highly recommended.

A fantastic place to stay!

from anonymous

My girlfriend and I stayed at the White House last week, and what can I say? The whole place has been beautifully done - stylish, light and airy. Sean and Kathryn are brilliant hosts - easily accessible and happy to help. By the end of our stay it felt more like we'd been staying with friends!!

Our room was immaculate and everything we hoped it would be. We loved the attention to detail throughout the hotel.

Breakfast was wonderful, and had we been able to tear ourselves away from the completely delicious full English there was a really good selection of utterly tempting alternatives (fish x 2, veggie, continental).

Brighton's a long drive from Sheffield, but we're so taken with The White House that we're already planning our next visit!!

Simply wonderful - highly recommended.

Breakfast at The White House!

from anonymous

A hidden gem in Kemp Town! This is a lovely place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The place is inviting, friendly and colourful and I will definitely be going back. This place beats any big hotel hands down. The owners are so nice and made us feel so welcome that I look forward to going back. The breakfasts and the chocolate bars in the bedrooms were all added treats! I cannot rave about this place enough and would say to anyone thinking about going to Brighton - STAY HERE!

Our new favourite hotel in Brighton

from anonymous

My boyfriend and I stayed at The White House last weekend and thought it was a real find. It's run by a young but very professional couple who have a lovely welcoming attitude. When we were there, 6 other guests were repeat visitors which is a pretty good recommendation in itself.

There are about 12 bedrooms and they're all decorated differently - we stayed in the Iron Room - a room on the top floor with a four poster and views of the sea. Our room was immaculate and the hotel had thoughtfully supplied both a bottle opener and free chocolate bars. The room was totally silent and the bed very comfy - so we slept extremely well.

Breakfast is served at civilised times in a lovely airy room downstairs. There were loads of choices for breakfast including traditional english, veggie and continental (which all looked fabulous) but we had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, plus fat, juicy kippers with a perfectly poached egg. Both are highly recommended!

There is currently free parking very close to the hotel which is a pretty big bonus in Brighton. The only slight inconvenience of The White House is that their website is not too easy to find... but if you search for "whitehousebrighton" you should find it!

Had a lovely weekend at the White House

from aliontheisland

The atmosphere at the White house is relaxed, warm and friendly. Shaun and Kathryn are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were out of this world. The room and ensuite bathroom were spotless, warm and welcoming (chocolate bars in the room were a lovely touch).

The cost was not as expensive as a lot of the main hotels / B&B's but the service was first class. Excellent value for money. Nothing would have been too much trouble.

Thank you for a lovely time - it was our eighth wedding anniversary and we couldn't had had a better time.

Great place to stay

from anonymous

Just returned from our first stay at the White House and our whole weekend there was excellent. The cool and funky feel to the place is nicely matched with the warm and friendly welcome from the owners. We definitely felt that nothing was too much trouble and great choice of breakfasts. Our room was good value; clean, airy and well designed. Its the little things that sometimes make the difference - like having kitkat and crunchies waiting for us in our room when we got in! We would thoroughly recommend this place and we will be returning sometime soon.

Excellent!!!

from anonymous

We have just spent a wonderful weekend at this quiet B&B. It cannot be faulted. The young owners are so friendly and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. The whole place was spotless, light and airy. Our room was beautifully decorated with particular attention paid to detail. Breakfast was the best we have ever had in any hotel (and we have stayed in quite a few) so much choice and all beautifully presented. we will defo be going back and telling everyone else to do the same!
