... Apparently there are cabins out on Deal Island that you can reach by boat.
We had the best lunch on the eastern shore at the Island House restaurant. Crab bisque, and beer battered cod were outstanding and the view out over the marshes was lovely. After lunch we walked around the marina and strolled the quiet streets of town with charming houses with small yards, looking for signs of spring. The coast guard and virginia institute of marine science have locations here.

Since we were both just freaking ecstatic to be out of New York this three hour drive was nothing. We got ...

We got up this morning hoping to get in a couple of tours today. We managed to get on a 10:00 nature bus tour on Assateague Island. We went to a back area to the north side of the island to see some of the wild ponies. The return trip was the most entertaining when we rolled up on a group of ponies as two were going to town trying to expand the herd. Explain that to the children. As we left the sex show we encountered a ...

Although our departure date was looming, the wonder was certainly not going to end yet! We met up with the wonderful Deb and Steve at Asateague Island to try again to visit it and see the wild horses. Last year politics had closed the Island – they can't hold good Brits and their US buddies down – we were back! It was wonderful. The sunshine smiled lovingly on us and we cycled for miles around the islands, walked on the ...
