      It's Christmas Day and my present to myself is to be climbing into my car and head'n down the rod to Washington DC - the weather service suggests generally good weather for DC and I have always wanted to go to the Smithsonian, so, as I was so close (400 miles / 600 km) it seemed like a good idea!

      I flew out of Seattle today to Cleveland, Ohio to collect my new (for me) 1976 Buick Electra.

      I now understand why my friends almost fell off their chairs with laughter when I mentioned 'Cleveland' - there is somewhere that can be colder than Seattle, Washington in Winter! When I arrived and walked out of the airport to get a taxi, I felt little flutterings against my face - it was only when I looked into the light of the nearest light that I realized it was lightly snowing!!

      Woke to rain but it had lessened to spitting when we hit the road. Went back into the Port area to have another look at the bridge to Canada. Left Port Huron via Marysville where we stopped at Meijer store where they advertise they have over 20,000 items for sale.
