Day 4 - the Hamption Court Palace

... right outside our hotel door so we caught it at Leicester Square and rode it back to the hotel. You do get nice views from the top level and the ride goes by Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey.
The oyster card (the London electronic travel card) which we bought for the underground can also be used on buses so we didn't have to buy additional tickets.

By the way - the weather has been unseasonably warm - highs of 17 and just overcast in mornings, giving way to sun. Ya!

you can't stop the beat

... strange, I pointed it out to Rachelle and we sat there watching a laughing - we think the the juggling person may have been the actual cause of the accident. I took a photo but it isn't all that clear, Shell got a video which she is planning to upload at some point. Ah the wieirdness that is London!

Only a few days left until I fly so unless something exciting happens I don't know if I will blog again. Can't wait to see everyone!

TSJ's Last Month (or so) Living in London :(

... shot as if it was a play. Joss hatted the movie and loves the song as well, so we were probably both going to feel the same way about the play.
We went through the side entrance (cheap tickets don’t get to enter through the foyer) and as soon as we found our seats it made us realise why the tickets were so cheap. We were up the very back corner with a quarter of the stage obstructed by barriers. Damn. Then a lady came up to us and told us that they were pretty empty ...

Photo-ops galore.

... there were a bunch of other tourists there so we didn't look as ridiculous...or so I'd like to believe. Oh, and for both of our photos, a double decker bus stopped to let us cross - so both of our photos are so typically British it's very amusing.

Then we headed over to the British Museum. We started with the Egyptian wing, but it's so hard to go through a museum with someone else, so we decided to just split up and meet back at the ...

St. Paul's, Westminster Abby, Jack the Ripper Tour

... We make it and have a short break and snack in the gallery. Accompanied by "over achievers" we proceed an additional 119 step to the stone gallery of the tower for more photo shots. Wrapping things up at St. Paul's we have a picnic lunch in the church courtyard. On to the Museum of London to learn about the poor baker who was blamed for allegedly leaving the home fires burning and ...

Hello

... R and The Old Girl love to travel and, wherever they go, we go too, sometimes to the great embarrassment of The Old Girl. Well, I like to meet my fellow passengers and travellers and to say hello. R understands this, but ....... enough said. I will move on. Over the course of the next few months I will write up the details of some of our more recent travels for you. You will have to be patient though, as I am a very busy bear.

London Calling

... large green spaces, which were immaculately clean and well preserved. This was a feature throughout the city centre. Passing through the long stretch of greenery we proceeded to Buckingham Palace to begin our tourist tract. Walking such a distance in search of the most celebrated family home in Britain was worthless. A quick look from outside the gates, which to our disappointment was not manned by the queen's guards (they stand at the entrance to the palace, which you ...

Tourist London

... and headed back to the hotel to await Jimmy and Emma. My great directions (thankfully) got Jimmy and Emma straight to our hotel. So once they arrived we headed into Earl's Court for a pub dinner, quite funny as they had pub quiz night.... we weren't too bad but we didn't win anything, after a few quiet drinks we called it a night, knowing that tomorrow was going to be busy showing them the tourist sights of London.
