... we exit the ship. It, like the others, has all of the souvenirs you can imagine. On the stage, young are girls doing highland dances for the crowd. As we enter the city we pass by two large and historic churches and the very old Rodd Inn. Despite it being a Monday morning, the city seems very sleepy. A lobster restaurant is located 100 yards to the left of the ship. We make a note of this place for a future trip.

From there we went separate ways to explore Charlottetown and most of us wound up down at the harbour sometime during the afternoon. Like most of the maritime harbours we have seen (one) Charlottetown has done a commendable job of making it a pleasant location for things tourstique (as they say in Quebec). There are boardwalks to stroll, marinas and shops to explore and ...

Not having been blessed with daughters I was not fully up on the Anne of Green Gables legend, although we had seen an inspired musical version featuring niece Clare earlier in the summer. That orientation was ...
... MacDonald's drunkenness. I do not think our great leaders and minds were any different from the American's - we just like to tell all their faults and almost revel in them. This is only my opinion but my 8 year old son asked if we didn't have any great Canadian Hero's like America ? When I told him some of the names of our great leaders he disagreed with me because the tour guide had just said he was a drunk. How tragic that his young mind is already turned ...
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada pringlefarmYep she would except on this very weekend. It was quickly decided this was to be the weekend of indulgence and the ultimate laze fest. Substance abuse was sure to be at hand and after making so many gosh darn bucks buskin I was feeling crazy in the food department. Hey check it out two more hits and I'm 666! I should have known Andrea was trouble from the start but she tricked me into her home. I had ...

The large (ish - out of season remember?) crowd revealed an art student type playing with sand and a craft knife. I wasn't that impressed at the beginning but as a lighthouse, complete with steps cut into the 'rock' began to take shape I changed my mind. Imagine if your job was making sandcastles? How cool would that be?! Sandland was great - loads of huge models carved ...

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada wanderlust34 Travellers to the East Coast.... Prince Edward Island was our main stay.
