... and had desert after our $1.00 hot dog and $1.00 corn dog at Cookout. We then rode through Appalachian State University. The campus is really beautiful and was quite alive with students and visitors.

We returned to Montreat/Black Mountain to allow Leo a chance to get out of the motor home and run around.

All in all it was a fun day with fun people!!

... Lake and invited us over to eat and play kickball. We stayed there a while (probably longer than we should have) and had to headlamp into camp that night it was totally worth it. ... we were left stranded outside of the park... We made the best of it though, we did some back country cooking in front of the gate and shivered ourselves to sleep in the car until morning.

Later we realized that miserable night was pointless because we woke up to the pouring rain and we couldn't climb anyways... so we headed back to RVA.


I will return in better weather and crush Stone Mountain with Lee we need a redo!

Awoke to a beautiful sunrise over the mountains. Packed a picnic lunch and fishing gear and hit the road. Stopped at our favorite breakfast restaurant - Banner Elk Cafe.
