... And trust us, it wasn't always easy (especially for the one who always thought she was right).

Flexibility was key. We were both open to changing our plans for the day if something better came up or if the day wasn't working out quite the way we had hoped.

Having our own personal space where we could retreat to read, relax or sleep was a lifesaver.

After we get back, Jim has volunteered to be a camp host once ...

Made it as far as Warrenton, Missouri on day 2. As you can see by the picture, Braddock has become a lapdog. Nice weather and mostly decent roads so far. Tried a short cut in Western Kentucky, though, where the two-lane highway had bumps and dips and a very narrow bridge over the Mississippi River. Probably won't do that one again. Nebraska ...

... streets around the zoo for free, but by the time we got there, all those spaces were taken. We saw butterflies, sea lions, lions, hippopotamuses, elephants, bears, white pelicans, tigers, zebras, bee eaters, kudus, Somalian wild asses, okapi, capybara, hornbill bird, stork, and lots more.

By now we needed gas, so we went a little out of our way to a Costco for ...
