... with a small wall or wrought iron fence and some even have benches. There are a few above ground mausoleums with stain glass windows, but the grave markers from the 1800's are the ones everyone comes to see. They are works of art, and in this setting, they look like time has stood still with soft Spanish moss veil draped over everything. It was not creepy at all but quite peaceful and serene. Very stormy day in Charleston, SC today (and for the last 3 days in a row); and forecasted to be stormy right through Wed. So making today a driving day!!!

Charleston is affectionately known as "the low country", because the streets pretty much flood and close down whenever it rains an inch or more. Brilliant.

... not find anywhere busy enough to indicate it was worth eating in on a sat night. We ended up in Tiki bar, where a guy was playing solo live on his acoustic guitar. We ordered bar snacks, breaded mushrooms & onion rings for our tea, obviously with some drinks to accompany them. The sounds were good, we clapped each song, which he appreciated each time. It had been raining hard for a while, but we made most when it eased and left leaving the singer a tip on our exit. ...

We decided to leave Mark & Liz's a day early as this would improve our chances of getting up to Ruth's parents the day before Father's Day. Also, Liz was kind of under the impression we would be staying only 3 nights anyway, so no hard feelings there.
