Getting Ready

We are finally getting to use our newly purchased used motorhome. We purchased a motorhome to make it easier to travel with our 16 year old cat, Ember, who has a number of health issues and needs daily medication. Hopefully she will be comfortable in her home on wheels, and enjoy being with us.

All that is left is the final packing of the motorhome before we set out tomorrow morning.

This is our shakedown journey, so we hope all goes well. ...

One adult day care, one nursing home, two schools, and two after school programs…whew! The schedule was thoughtfully arranged to give us plenty of time in between and gave us a good lunch break too. This afternoon ended up having a bit of a gap between appearances, so we were able to go back to the RV for a little bit, make some phone calls, let John touch up his make-up and relax a bit before heading out ...

The day is finally here! I'm sure I'm not the only one whose jitters are slightly overshadowing the excitement of 7 weeks in China! In a few short hours, the group will meet at BCPS headquarters in Towson where Dr. Hairston (Superintendent) will wish us well. Amid tears and hugs we will load our lighter-than-we-wanted-to-take suitcases on a bus and head to Reagan National ...

My other concerns are simply bumps in the road. I am excited and worried about travel. I have been told that I need to take a step back and relax because I will be able to make plans as I go. While my parents are not thrilled about this idea, I have embraced it because there is not much I can do at this point. I am also nervous about eating rice and black beans at each meal.
