It was only an hour drive, which was nice, and the sponsor had a place set up for us to stay (LOVE when they do that): a school parking lot with electric hook-ups. We arrived at the school and drove around, but didn’t see anyone. However, when we turned around, we saw a smiling guy walking up toward us and waving. He introduced himself ...

... There was still a little daylight left so we wandered up the hill to Minturno (alto). We parked in the piazza Mercado and strolled just down to piazza Roma. We looked out over the sun setting over the Golfo di Gaeta, With the baronial castle, the town hall, and a park all framing the scene we were stunned. It was as beautiful as we had hoped. If first impressions make lasting impression this is a memory that would last the rest of our lives. Little did ...
