... are so sweet and have the cutest accents. I have even noticed an improvement in driving, not as many ******** as we are used to in VA. Approximately 500 miles later we arrived at our first stop in Chattanooga, Tennessee and instantly felt like we could just stay here. We found the coolest pizza place called "Mellow Mushroom" while walking around exploring the city. It is so clean and there is so much here to do.

After driving up from Lake City, we spent a great weekend with Jamie and Kristen. They made a turkey dinner for us with all the trimmings and we relaxed at their house on Saturday. On Sunday we drove out to the Chickamauga Battlefield National Park, watched a video and toured the park. Fun stop at the Sears Shoe Store (holy lots of shoes) then made our way home for turkey leftovers and margaritas. Early departure tomorrow am. We'll have to save "Captain Ron" for next ...

... literally splitting apart and this is a big deal geographically speaking. It is breathtakingly beautiful. The fall colors were past their prime but still glorious. There were so many cute lake homes and cabins along this pass, many of which have been there for years and years. The whole area is quite rich in history.

... walks on the edge of the canyon and trips through the forest. There were several areas where you could leave the trail and go post up on big rocks right at the edge of the canyon. The views were stunning. Check out the pictures below even though my ****** camera doesn't do the park justice. The trail takes you to the southern edge of the canyon which affords sweeping views of the homes and farms below. It then turned back and looped back through the woods to my campground.
