... a bit gusty on the Auckland Harbour Bridge. As long as we went up the middle lane and took it gently there wasn’t any hassle. We arrived at the parking area at Snells Beach by 4.30pm to find 8 other rigs already parked up. Shortly after we were set up there was a shower of rain so that was good timing. We had a quiet evening of cards and music before heading for bed. It’s been a longish day.

The factory is nestled in – funnily enough – a valley in Puhoi. Surrounded by trees, rivers and wild life, it is a beautiful place to work, despite having to arrive there at 6 in the morning. Just a long the road is Puhoi Village which has a tiny little library, a pub known for hosting various bikie meets and coincidentally, the place we started our kayaking a few weeks before.
