Last Day of 2014 Exploring Connecticut

The morning of New Years Eve, we jumped in the car with Sasha and set out to see some more of Connecticut. We saw adorable town after adorable town, and had lunch at an old fashioned general store near Goshen. We drove through Cornwall, a perfect little town with a 200 year old covered bridge. The day trip ended with a hike to the top of a beautiful hill, where we were able to document the last day of the year with justice. ...

As we approached Exit 18, I got butterflies in my stomach and my pulse began to race. Poughkeepsie was only about 20 minutes from the NY Thruway and I envisioned seeing my friends and reuniting with them, even if it was for only a few minutes. A travel blog entry by heavenonearth on Oct 08, 2014

The problem was that it was down in a valley so getting out of the valley with icy roads would have been a problem. During the summer there was the Houstonic River that ran along side the town. This place was beautiful during the fall. Also saw Bull's Covered Bridge. Too bad they did not have a campground ...

Arriving again into a delightful little town via a duntingly depressing highway vista was again a surprise and our last place of residence was a lovely little gift to the weary traveller.

The Pawling House is a grand old American house which has been restored and extended and run by the very best of hosts, Barbara. We were shown to beautiful rooms and she booked us into the "best restaurant in town" and were able to chill out and ...

All five of us in one place; a rare occurrence. We have photos to comemorate the event. We went through a lot of food and emptied a few coolers. Enjoyed the day catching up on each other's lives. Multiple generations in one place unfortunately our ...
