    ... and the southernmost point in the U.S. Walked around awhile, watched the sunset over the water (with a million other people in the square), stopped at Hogsbreath Saloon for a beer (had to do that!), and the Key Lime Pie Factory for a piece of pie and one to go (yum), watched a pretty good street performer, then started making our way back to the truck for the loooonnng... drive back (100 miles again....). The drive's not nearly as pretty in the dark - made it in a little over 2 hours. ...

    We luck out and find a spot to park and head down the street. Lots of little places to stop and eat and such so we start off with the little Tiki bar place.. and find two stools at the bar for our first pit stop. Melanie is our Bartender and we soon get the lay of the land from her and a couple of locals sitting around the bar. Good Margarita too! ... we order a couple of appys... Conch Fritters and some peel and eat shrimp. ... why ...

    ... the site is very private. The weather is warm but not hot. It has definitely been too windy but the bright side is you do not notice that it is warm.     ... hours. They were very nice and made him one of the boys!

    But, by this time, it was dinnertime and we needed to figure out what we wanted to eat. I found a Cuban restaurat called El Siboney, which was only about three blocks from the hotel and was very highly rated. We walked over and knew it must be good from the crowd waiting to get in.

    We only had to wait about 15 minutes, and then ...

In an environment kept at 82 degrees with a humidity of 80%, 50 varieties of butterflies and over 20 species of exotic birds keep you company. The butterflies live an average of 5 days.
