Been so busy have not had time to update blog, so here is a little update.
Up again 4am but excited for the day ahead. Breakfast at 6am, on the road for 7:30.
Our journey up to san francisco was via the famous pacific highway 1. Wow what a journey, first part of road snakes up & down mountains hugging the coastline and through little towns. Plenty of viewing points to stop for pics. One place being home to 1000s of elephant seals, ...
... etc. So we thought we would go to the spa to relax, NOT, this pool and spa, was full of kids. The water was so murky,there was no way we were going to get in the urine pool.
Had a few beers listening to music, ate a quick meal and off to bed.
... which we love but unlike Spain where most of the roads and sidewalks are incomplete or have big holes in them, everything in Santa Barbara is just perfect. It is very relaxed and has a holiday feel to it, but with excellent shopping and dining facilities. The Population is about 80,000 but there are more than 450 restaurants, due to the volume of tourists that arrive everyday of the year and sometimes stay for weeks at a time. ... much for me in one day, the flight and arriving in a new house for two months in one day. I felt really homesick, sick to my stomach but the beautiful city made that passed a bit.
On Saturday, I went shopping on State street and Paseo Nuevo, which are big shopping areas here in Santa Barbara. I also went at the beach and walked on the harbour. I started my walk from my host's house at ...
... and lunch. And the sign “Next exit State Prison” and right underneath the sign “Do not pick up hitch hikers” – wonder why? I think its super exciting and a lot to see – we love it
