... in fact, and that set the tone for what I hope to be the rest of my trip. From there, we had perfect timing, catching the very next bus with only five minutes of waiting. That arrived at the train station early so we were able to catch the next train with only five minutes of waiting, which also arrived in good time. All in all, we were in Bath before we knew it. ... some TV. No 'Man vs Food' so instead we watched 'Come Dine with Me' and Sarah came down to join us. Nik got a beer, Sarah got some tonic and we enjoyed some TV until about when we threw 22 candles into the crumble, grabbed Hana and sang out birthday boy a very short. It was great hot and with some ice cream, a smaller group than normal but lovely all the same. We watched Don't Tell the Bride and NCIS before I came upstairs. I need to be up early tomorrow.

It's Nik's birthday tomorrow and we're going to make him something he likes for dessert. I'm going to make him a card, with balloons and colours and things.

I decided I needed bread so I did in fact make the breadsticks - a much simpler and faster process than last time I made bread. They turned out good, perhaps a bit bland, so I made a bowl of soup and a tray for that and my oranges and came upstairs to watch House. At this rate ...

... Fort at a height of 192 metres. It had covered a large area and was also used by the Romans. Below the Fort an old Manor House with stone buttresses and a heavy oak shutter to the door had stood the test of time. My next stage was along a footpath to Horton and then a road to Horton Court, a grand old house owned by the National Trust although not open at the moment.
