... Memphis via Alabama and Mississippi .. A four and a half hour drive with stops along the way anywhere we saw a Harley sign.. Good trip..
Arrived in Memphis around 7.30pm.. Interesting place.. Will be good to have. Bit of a look around tomorrow.. Off to Gracelands to see how Elvis is going pushing up those daisies and have deluxe tour tickets so we can go and look at his airplanes, bikes and cars. Should be good.
Not really deep enough for any major swimming but if you wanted to wade and or even sit down to get wet on a hot day..this is a great location.
... hill -A group in front of us made a wrong turn so we were accidentally ahead of them and we had to pull off and wait -Lorriane got a flat -A driver tried to scare riders by swerving into them across lanes -Lauren had to get vanned because her head was bothering her (she was concussed last week), and we had to wait for that. We waited at this place where we initially intended to eat, but it turned out to be really gross and smelly. We avoided throwing up by not eating ...
Then I got to the site, and if I wasn't on Cloud 9 already, I was launched so far up into the clouds as soon as I saw the gorgeous retreat center we were staying in - with BEDS!!! (Simple pleasures, people. That list has never been so large.) After a hot shower with no lines, I journaled on a rock face overlooking the TN valley below where the sun sailed behind the rolling peaks. It was...perfect. Absolutely..perfect.
... joined in on our final cruise in to lunch. After a delicious lunch of salad, hummus, and a SB sandwich, I was ready to get going for our last 12 miles. Unfortunately, both Evan and Sam got flats. Fortunately though, we found a quaint Hippie store, as well as a neat outdoor store to check out before we made it in to Sewanee and the gorgeous views of this place. Pizza's for dinner! 85-er to look forward to ...
