Brixham to Weymouth

Before leaving Brixham which is a large seaside town with so many tourists, we drove to the harbour to see the replica of the Golden Hind which is the boat that Sir Walter Raleigh sailed in. Went through Paignton to Torquay, a more upmarket tourist town and saw the coloured cabanas on the beach which were there when I came there in 1961. Also so many yachts . Drove through Babbacombe on the outskirts of Torquay where there are lovely hotels ...

... to be only one car-width wide, but they are two-way roads. These roads are so small and poorly marked , and we ended up turning around several times before we found the village at about 6:00 this evening.

Winterbourne Stickland is so small that I could not get directions exactly to the house we are seeking on Googlemap or on the sat-nav. In this village there are no number addresses, only house names. We finally ...

... took the front forks out completely - this gains quite a lot on the length and also a bit on the height because the steerer tube (now removed) was stuck up above the crossbar. I can do no more - let's hope for some sympathetic staff at the check-in desk. Watch this space - hopefully there will be an entry on Sunday/Monday about assembling the bikes in Rome.

... times, some laughs, some tears (all mine), some scrapes, sunk a few times but it's made us closer, and after nearly 30 years of marriage (phew that long!) it can't be a bad thing :-)
oh there are about another 400 pics to go on FB yet if you can bare it!!!
So here's to the next adventure, wherever it may take us.

Oh and both the kids are home now so my washing and cooking has doubled for a few weeks ...
