... about a room, thinking it would be nice to BE somewhere for the day and not do much of anything. The nicest lady took care of us, telling us about a wedding for the next day that meant she would upgrade us to the nicer room, keeping the cheaper price so the wedding party could still be together. Woo hoo! Another great bit of luck.

The room is so lovely, pure heaven. It is spacious and clean, with a huge living room ...

While Gord was at the Junior Curling Championships, I had a mini quilt retreat here in Yuma. Judy & I quilted pretty much every day and evening. Got a lot accomplished. Fun and friendship quilting.

Gord's sister Barb came over from San Diego to spend two nights with me while Gord was away. We had a great time at the flea market, actually had to make 3 trips back ...

... but we landed in time.

On that note, congrats fellow Bellevillians on being the 6th most dangerous city in the country! All 38,000 of you are psychopaths (minus my Garvin clan and the people who own the Arby's). I miss Arby's.

Christina and I drove up to Ottawa on the 22nd and stayed overnight. Got to see some of my work colleagues and have dinner with friends. Both Chris and I were severely jet-lagged so ...

Hard to believe we are home already. We would have spent extra time in BC but since we celebrate Christmas with Chris' family a week early we had every reason to come home.

We drove out to Picton on Friday and will stay for the weekend before Chris starts work again for a short while at the walk in clinic.

... sich besser lösen. Die Temperatur ist sehr entscheidend, weil man natürlich nicht möchte, dass die Haut verbrennt, aber es muss warm genug sein, damit die Federn gelockert werden. Anschließend kommen sie in einen speziellen Topf, in dem das Huhn routiert und sich somit die ganzen Federn loslösen. Dadurch müssen nur noch wenige Federn per Hand rausgezupft werden. Zum Schluss werden die Eingeweide herausgenommen und das Huhn hängt noch ein bisschen aus, ...
