We didn't have a lunch stop until we were only 5kms away from Prestatyn when our legs were struggling, and a tea and a sandwich was found in a very nice place next to "The Waterfalls"...

The entry to Prestatyn is not a glorious one, mainly roads, but the sun peeped out to say hello.

Our hotel is quite good for its price, and has an indoor swimming pool (which Marcos enjoyed healing his feet in), a gym, ...

... another day of heat as the hill climbing would have been slightly criminal if not.

Very little else to add, apart from the fact that the cottage we are spending the night is very nice, and the owners extremely friendly (with a big cup of tea and scones with marmalade waiting for us at arrival).

The owner drove us to the local pub "The Downing Arms" where we had a splendid meal and a good night walk back to the farm. The owner was waiting for us with the log fire on....

Some of the lessons we've learned

Book all of the accommodation in advance, we did this most of the time but there were parts we had left open. The problem was that just turning up and trying to find somewhere to stay took too long. We ended up checking on the internet to find places in the end anyway. You still get the best deals on the internet.

Book flights first, accommodation can be done anytime and you can spread ...

So what have we achieved?

Well apart from having flown on 7 different airlines circling the globe covering 34,451 miles we have

  • Fed wild dolphins in the sea in Tangalooma
  • Rode an Elephant in Bali
  • Rode the steep cable car to peak in Hong Kong
  • Rode the San Francisco cable car
  • Saw Sea Lions in San Francisco
  • Fed fish in the sea in Brisbane
    ...
