Once again we drove through Hendon, another town in the family history on our way to East Knoyle from where William Ford & his family were sent back to Chicklade because of the "Poor Law"
Then finally back here to Mere, so we did quite a bit of Family History Tripping but did not find out any extra information, it was just good to be in places where I had family 200 plus years ...

... tick on the list. By lunchtime we were in Salisbury for a look at the cathedral. It's a beautiful cathedral, but I liked the Bath Abbey more, the stained glass windows were amazing there. Salisbury is much larger and the exterior impressive. The 800 years of Magna Carta exhibition that was on show at the cathedral was really interesting. Getting quite warm 20 degrees ...

... the town so then we got a cab back to hotel for dinner. The hotel had a wedding reception on and a few guests were a bit rowdy.

8 July Had breakfast and got a cab back to the station for the 10-50 back to Waterloo. Then 2 tubes back to Chiswick Park. Home by 2pm in time to watch Andy Murray lose at Wimbledon.
Great shame that the weekend did not turn out as hoped spending time at the ...
