Just four weeks to go and I just want to be settled on board with the real world, and Christmas , left behind. I still need to order money and am checking the exchange rates daily its still going up so hang on. If it starts to go down then I buy before it looses any more. The money is delivered to the ship so don't have to carry it. The exchange rate is pretty good also. Found ...

This year 6,657 Christmas shoeboxes were donated to The Trussell Trust for distribution in Bulgaria. This is another record and a reminder that there are a lot of you out there that really care about others much less fortunate than yourselves. It's been an interesting visit, different to that we expected perhaps, as mentioned before, contrasts from lavish demonstrations of (modern) wealth to remnants of the soviet past. Early start - bitterly cold! Duvet coat sheepskin boots and gloves. It was just a short drive from the campsite to the Hawk Conservancy.
Just look at the pictures and you'll see the fun. Lots of other birds - hawks and owls and vultures, but these are the highlights.
A long day - walking miles it seemed, kilos of day old chicks. And a bitterly cold half hour watching the professionals ...

... another Christmas market (these are Christmas themed crafts market with some food stalls essentially). Explored the town a bit before seeing the great gothic Salisbury Cathedral, which must have one of the greatest spires in England. We did not go in though as there was a service about to start. We walked back into the town centre to a Tesco's for groceries, and back to the YHA to cook up some pizzas and vegetables for dinner. Made our beds and showered. Played cards and went to ...
