Although it took 11 hours to get from DC to Randolph, it was A LOT better than flying since we would still be waiting for our flight today I bet. We scooted out of DC just as THE BIGGEST STORM EVER was coming in. Didn't really see much snow at all on the way up but Amtrack did cancel all northbound trains the next day.
So you know how the train goes - sway sway, choo choo, read, sleep, eat, stand up and stretch - repeat. But it was a bit surprising ...

... the next tour. Info given by tour guide was overwhelming, but we understood his clapping of hands to hurry us up!! Lowering the flag at 5 pm with taps sent chills down our spine.
