Zumwalt meets a lot of Bull

... drove all over the Caringorm Mountains today and I found some beautiful poisonous mushrooms which I have added photo's of.

Tomorrow we move on to Isle of Sky, supposedly one of the most beautiful places in Scotland. It will be a long drive but we should see many great things. Our driver is spoiling us and has been wonderful and it just could not have been a better trip for us. The lodgings have been luxurious and the food great.

... Malt Whiskey is made. It was very interesting and I asked lots of questions. We had a taste testing and discovered we still do not like the whiskey that much! To much taste of peat. They were nice to let us in as they were flooded around them and did a great tour for us.

We ended by seeing ancient sites dating back to 4-5000 BC. It was quite something!

... vacation. We went to the gates and although the police were standing by they allowed us to photograph and did not run us off. We waved at them when we left and they probably thought those crazy Americans! I told Gordon our driver that I was sure the Queen didn't get the message that we were coming or I was certain she would have sent us an invitation to tea!

Home of Glen Grant Whisky Distrillery & Gardens

Rothes is the little Scottish village where the Glen Grant Whiskey Distillery is located. It is part of the Speyside Whisky Trail, where the largest concentration of Scotch whisky distilleries is located in Scotland. This large valley is popular among distillers because this is where most of the barley is grown for the distillation process.

The distillery has a nice garden and a gift shop.

... to the "Duff House" to take a photo and backing back down the driveway really quickly, it was getting late & we pulled up on this soccer field by the water & hid behind the soccer hall and parked their for the night, it was even a better view than the caravan park across the road - and it was free!
We are having trouble downloading our photos onto the external harddrive so hopefully some photos will appear shortly.

... t call it Scotch in Scotland, they look at you funny. Also, its whisky NOT whiskey. Everybody up to speed? Ok good. The tour at the distillery was pretty cool. I learned more about the whisky process than I probably ever needed to. But we did get some whisky at the end of the tour. They also make a whisky liquer that even Jodi liked. It is pretty delicious! It is begging to be paired with some gooey dessert. Now back to ...

... to challenge all smells throughout time. Yep I let one evil spirit out and boy was he bad. We ended up laughing so hard as we had all the doors open the boot was open but still he wouldn't budge after about 10mins of a roaring wind ripping through the car the little fella had left and we were able to resume our journey home. Pulled in about 11:30 at night and then had another week of work. But hey we had fun and it was only 5 days of work before we hit Bohemian Paris. Oo La La.

... meant driving was easy. We stopped halfway ion Glasgow for a wander around and were impressed with the street entertainment which included an opera singer and some Scottish drummers. Back on the road the further north in Scotland we got the more like NZ the scenery became. Once at their house we were introduced the new members of their family we hadn't met before which included Roxy (dog), Spotswood (cat) and last but not ...

This is the day we came for

... breakfast and when we went out for dinner last night we took a wrong turn and ended up at the Chivas Regal distillery where they have made scotch for the last 395 years. Oh my we had to turn around and walk the other way :) We left this morning for Port Soy Scotland to see if Kevin could find any family link. He was very excited and a little nervous to go thru this part of the journey. When we first arrived the town was bigger than what we thought it would be. Our first discussion ...
