    87 degree temps does not encourage fall colors! However, a stop at Ben @ Jerry's eased the warm day. Crossed from VT to NY via Lake Champlain ferry ($23). Ausable Chasm was worth the stop...and provided a scenic hike. Colorful trees amidst interesting layers of rock were amazing!     ... cabin our buddies rent each year around Labor day. After the weekend, returned to home base NYC for a couple of weeks before flying to Seattle to begin the next adventure.

    In Fern Lake tradition we snap a shot of the group prior to departure from the cabin. For this performance the role of Jim Kieding is being performed by the Green Alien.
