Just outside of the dock was Fort Oranje, a small fort of 4 remaining canons and a wall of 6 feet in height. In its bright color it was not an imposing sight. But it was a nice site to walk around. In the Center of the site on the front wall was a lighthouse. It was one of the tallest structures that we would see during our short stay in Kralendijk (pronounced Crawl-in-dike).
