... I even saw a picture of the bathing compartments pulled by horses into the water so people could swim without anyone seeing them in their swimmers. I'm presuming it was for the women! I also presume their swimmers were neck to ankle... lol what would they think these days!!
I was going to have lunch on the pier but they weren't selling any food.. ah well you can't have it all your own way!
... a lot to see when your on them.
So we decided on a next stop as Lyme Regis on the South Coast to break up our journey back to London. It's a nice place at the start of the Jurassic Coast which we did not have time to explore. Kim impressively went for a morning run even though it was rainy and windy and I stayed tucked up in bed!
... we went into the club. Where they were just finishing off the kids club show. We had a three piece singing group and then two comedians. I think the entertainment startedabout 9 and went through till about 1. In the club they had a kids amusement centre, with pool tables, dance machines and arcade games.. we went through a lot of 2p coins than night!! I was really surprised at the amount of entertainment there. A lot of fun for a big kid like me!!
Poole, England, United Kingdom sares12... a smashing roast at the White Lion Carvery in Crewkerne.
Sad to leave this morning, Art went off to work in Bridport at about 8.30 am and we were so imersed in chatting with Thurza that we didn' get away til 11.45 am.
Arrived at Wayne & Julia Stonehams new pad at about 3.30 pm after stopping for lunch.
Hoping to catch the England v Croatia World Cup qualifier in about half an hour live on ITV!!
... and soaked us, what a day we were having but all good fun! A few photos of the river and bridge whilst we were sat watching a family of 9 who were all hiring 3 motor boats, it made us smile that is for sure and just wished we had a camcorder with us, poor grandad did not want to go fast or in a straight line!!! We left Dorset on 9th September 2009 to spend some time with my dad and mo at their home in Witheridge. A real bed to sleep in!!!
Wareham, Dorset, United Kingdom teamceri... standard 2 months. After a morning of frantic phone calls to the Sudanese Embassy and the passport office, it seems that they only need a copy of the passport for the 2 months (we can apply for the others within those 2 months then) and I need to visit Newport passport office in person on Wednesday. At least then we can apply for the visa before I head off on holiday in 2 weeks. I could do without a wasted day and extra expense though for something ...
Weymouth, England, United Kingdom spooky388... blocked by snow and we had to detour to Montigny and thence over the St Bernard Pass and down to Aolta.
Of that whole journey, which I will one day, if time permits relate to you, we were most impressed by Switzerland. At the time it was the most expensive place in Europe. A grapefruit priced at a Co-op shop in Basel, en route, scared us into living very frugally whilst in that country! So we missed out on the wonderful transport opportunities of rail, cablecars and lake ...
... This
would then compell us to continue by rail and other public transport
methods. We chose to go on a Great Rail Journey with the company of the
same name. Taking the Glacier Exprees package choice we set off for
Waterloo Station in London, from our local station at Yeovil Junction
early on a late June morning.
This is the story of that trip, its sights and its 'wonders' !!!
... to her. The owner of the bus asked me last week if I had been over to look at it. I was at work at the time, so didn't really get a chance to discuss the matter with him. I told him I needed a week or so to speak to the others. He seemed willing to negotiate on the price though, which is good. "Make me an offer...", he has said. Now, this is my problem. He says it can do 55 mph, others seem to think 30 mph. The radiator isn't fitted so I can't road ...
