... als Ehemann zu beweisen, an einem Felsen verschluckt und seitdem als Te Mata am Boden liegt. Der Hügel hat tatsächlich die Form eines schlafenden Riesen. Seine Geliebte hat sich von ihm gestürzt und bildet seitdem die Weinebene zu seinen Füßen. ... Usually Napier is one of our favorite stop-over places on our way north
or south. Well, this time we stopped and stayed for a week for fun.

In 1931 an earthquake and subsequent fires all but destroyed Napier. It has been rebuilt in the Art Deco Style which was popular at the time.
